The Tor oil and gas field lies in blocks 2/4 and 2/5 in the Ekofisk area of the Norwegian North Sea. Water depths in the area are 70-75 metres.
		The blocks were awarded in 1965, field development was approved in 1973, and production began in 1978.
		Tor is tied to Teesside in the UK and Emden in Germany via the Norpipe pipelines for oil and gas respectively.
