Naphtha is produced and sold by StatoilHydro from its Kårstø and Vestprosess plants in Norway, its Kalundborg refinery in Denmark and Braefoot Bay in UK.
Most of the group’s naphtha gets traded to customers in Europe and the USA, but some also goes to Far Eastern markets.
StatoilHydro is represented in all parts of the naphtha market, and sells to refiners, the petrochemicals industry and gasoline (petrol) blenders.
As for LPG, StatoilHydro’s main naphtha volumes are being supplied from its Kårstø and Mongstad plants in Norway. These have large storage facilities, such as fully-refrigerated rock cavern stores (two at Kårstø and one at Mongstad) and modern ports. These facilities have established StatoilHydro as a major player in the market, with opportunities to export naphtha to distant recipients
