South Pars phases 6, 7 & 8
In 2002, we became operator for the development of the offshore part of the South Pars phases 6, 7 & 8 project under a buy-back contract, with a 37% share during the development phase. Our Iranian partner Petropars holds the remaining 63% of the offshore section and is the operator responsible for the onshore facilities.
The offshore project comprises three wellhead platforms with three pipelines for transporting gas to shore, a condensate loading line and associated single point mooring (SPM) for condensate exports, the drilling of 27 production wells, the hook-up of three pre-drilled wells and the necessary reservoir management.
Anaran
We entered into a contract with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) for exploration of the Anaran block near the Iraqi border in April 2000. In 2003, our interest was reduced to 75% through a farm-out to Lukoil.
A discovery was made in the Azar structure in 2005, and a discovery was made in the Changuleh structure in September 2006.
Work on this project is currently suspended.
Khorram-Abad
We signed an exploration and development service contract with the NIOC for the Khorram-Abad block in Lurestan province in south-western Iran in September 2006. The block comprises 7,400 square kilometers, and the work program includes the acquisition of 600 km of 2D seismic and the drilling of three exploration wells. Seismic shooting started in August 2007 and was concluded in October 2008.
