In StatoilHydro ASA, 67% of the employees are covered by collective agreements.
During the merger process, union members from Statoil and Hydro were represented on the Integration Planning Committee which, among other things, was responsible for developing the new organisation and designing the staffing process.
A separate Cooperation Committee was also appointed to deal with all matters of principle before they were decided by the corporate executive committee.
The climate of cooperation has been good and the process enjoyed broad support among employees.
Future cooperation is stated in the StatoilHydro book as the company finds it essential to have a good and confidence-based relationship between employees and their representatives.
