Tanzania

StatoilHydro is acting as the operator through a production-sharing agreement with the Tanzanian Government and the Tanzanian Petroleum Development Cooperation (TPDC) for deepwater Block 2 offshore Tanzania in the Indian Ocean.

The contract is a typical production sharing agreement where TPDC and the Government get revenues as a function of the production volumes.

TPDC has the right to take a 10% participating interest should commercial discoveries be made, but is carried through the exploration phase.

Block 2 lies in water depths from 400 to 3000 metres, and no wells have been drilled this far from the coast to date.
