Faroe Islands

StatoilHydro has have five operatorships on the Faroese continental shelf.

Exploration off the Faroes forms part of our operations along the Atlantic Margin, which extends from west of the Lofoten Islands in the Norwegian Sea to west of Ireland.

These waters are technically challenging, since large areas of the seabed are covered by thick layers of hard basalt (old volcanic lava).
