StatoilHydro is involved in onshore gas production and exploration activities in Algeria.We operate the In Salah and In Amenas gas and condensate fields together with BP and the Algerian state oil and gas company Sonatrach. Under two purchase agreements signed by Statoil and BP in June 2003 Statoil acquired 49 percent of BP's stake in the In Salah gas venture and 50 percent in BP's In Amenas gas and condensate project. Our interests in the two fields are now 31.85 and 50 percent respectively.
StatoilHydro and BP collaborate with the state oil company Sonatrach both on In Salah and In Amenas.Seismic surveys and exploration drilling are being pursued on the 23,000-kilometre Hassi Mouina licence in the Sahara. We are the operator with a 75 percent interest, while Sonatrach has 25 percent.
