The goal of StatoilHydro's technology strategy is to identify which technologies and skills are necessary to achieve the company's ambitions.
The technology strategy is intended to contribute to the development of StatoilHydro as an international and competitive company.
The strategy addresses the following key business challenges:
- Resource replacement by finding new reserves as well as increasing the company's production of oil and gas from existing fields and laying the foundation for further growth.
- Field development and preparation for operations in new areas, developing the Arctic to a core area and establishing positions in deep water.
- Develop the oil sand value chain and meet challenging production goals for heavy oil at the same time as stringent environmental requirements are met
- Meet climate challenges and establish the foundation for future business opportunities by investing in ground-breaking technology within new energy and environmental technology
The results are to be achieved by concentrating efforts within exploration, reservoir, drilling and wells, field development in deep water and in arctic areas, processing and refinging of difficult hydrocarbons, environmental technology and new energy. Cost-effective and safe operations will form the basis for everything we do.
