StatoilHydro invests some 2 billion Norwegian kroner a year into research and development.
The most important task is generating technology and expertise that provides the world with more energy, and at the same time addresses environmental challenges.
To succeed, researchers must come up with original ideas that contribute to finding new technological solutions.
The research environment in StatoilHydro is organised around three research centres, in Trondheim, Bergen and Porsgrunn, and a five-pronged research programme:
- Exploration
- Enhanced recovery
- New development solutions
- Oil and gas processing
- New energy and new ideas
All research activities are led and coordinated from the Research Centre at Rotvoll in Trondheim, Norway’s largest concentration of industrial research.
