StatoilHydro is taming the wind's forces. We are actively investing in technology development and production of energy from wind power stations.
StatoilHydro is developing technologies of the future for exploitation of wind energy offshore and onshore, states the leader for New Energy in StatoilHydro, Alexandra Bech Gjørv.
We have a series of exciting projects underway for offshore wind power, and we also have several land-based wind power plants in operation and in the pipeline. As early as 2002, we started production at our first wind power park, Havøygavlen in Finnmark. At Utsira we are implementing a hydrogen and wind power project which was awarded the Platts Global Energy Award in 2004.
Wind energy is a resource with huge potential which we wish to exploit to generate a viable energy future. We apply our expertise acquired from implementation of complex projects related to oil and gas production to develop energy solutions for the future.
We have established a broad project portfolio and we have positioned ourselves so that we can play a central role in wind power production, nationally and internationally.
