StatoilHydro is investing in development, production and sales of small-scale heat and power plants through ownership in the company EC Power in Denmark. This company produces and sells plants to several countries including Germany, England and Denmark.
Heat and power systems from EC Power can satisfy the customer’s immediate demand for supply of electricity and heat in a unique way.
Unique control system
The control system is programmed to satisfy the customer demand for electricity, heat or cooling at any time.
The systems deliver 10-20 kilowatt (kW) electricity and 20-40 kW heat. They have been developed for use in places such as office buildings, hospitals, schools, housing cooperatives, and hotels.
Local supply
The systems can operate in groups as local electricity grids, thereby contributing to increasing supply reliability.
The module-based solution allows replacement of today’s diesel and gas engines with fuel cells, when these become commercially available.
