Statoil Asia Pacific, established in 1991, handles the sales and marketing of crude oil, refined products and natural gas liquids in one of the world's fastest growing regions.
A presence in Singapore allows StatoilHydro to participate in inter-regional (vest-east) trade which gives it a better understanding of the Asian influence on global markets.
This also enhances the group’s familiarity with operations in one of the world's fastest-growing regions.
Personal contacts and long-term thinking are crucial for making deals in the world of international oil trading. StatoilHydro can build on a long-established presence in Singapore, and is further developing these activities in Asia.
The crude oil traded by the group originates from Norway, west Africa, Azerbaijan, China and the Middle East.
StatoilHydro has also leased storage facilities for more than 11 million barrels in Korea to facilitate its Asian crude trading operation.
In addition, the office is extensively involved with natural gas liquids (NGL), and has an active presence in the regional liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and naphtha markets. This gives StatoilHydro truly global coverage in these markets.
The office also trades in refined products such as gasoil and fuel oil.
