Gas pipeline 

A pipeline is to be laid to carry natural gas from the Kollsnes processing plant north to Mongstad.

The combined heat and power (CHP) station under construction at the Mongstad refinery will have an annual fuel requirement equivalent to some 700 million standard cubic metres of gas.

Up to 500 million cubic metres is expected to be piped as natural gas from Kollsnes through the new pipeline, with the rest delivered by the refinery.

Kollsnes-Mongstad gas pipeline:

Length: about 65 kilometres
Diameter: base solution 10 inches (optionally 12)
Design pressure: 200 bar
Route: Largely alongside the existing Vestprosess pipeline
