Alpha North is a satellite to Sleipner West which was sanctioned for development in 2002.
This gas and condensate field is tied back to the Sleipner T gas treatment platform via an 18-kilometre pipeline.
The gas is rich in carbon dioxide, which is removed on Sleipner T and returned to the sub-surface Utsira formation from the Sleipner A platform.
Production began on 11 October 2004.
