Stakeholder dialogue 

Through open dialogue and active involvement, we aim to understand stakeholder interests and expectations that are relevant to our business, to inform stakeholders about our operations and plans and to create a shared understanding of the decisions we make.

Stakeholder dialogue is conducted at the corporate level, but also on a day-to-day basis in the countries and projects in which we operate. We involve stakeholder groups who are affected by - and who may affect - our operations around the world. Stakeholders who are relevant to our operations include governments, partners, suppliers, investors and shareholders, customers, employees and unions, civil society and local communities.

The StatoilHydro Book defines a common platform for how we manage our business. It sets out specific standards, principles and requirements that guide our relations with all our stakeholder groups.

We believe that open, clear and honest communication is critical to our business success. We therefore carry out a wide range of activities to ensure that we understand the interests and expectations of different stakeholders.

We are also committed to a range of partnerships and multi-stakeholder initiatives aimed at improving sustainability standards in our industry and beyond.

Moreover, our stakeholders play an increasingly important role in influencing the scope and focus of our sustainability reporting.
