Bressay, Mariner and Mariner East
StatoilHydro is the operator of the heavy-oil fields Bressay, Mariner and Mariner East on the UK continental shelf.
The operatorship was formally transferred from Chevron to StatoilHydro on 14 December 2007.
Alba
The Alba field lies in Licence P213, Block 16/26, on the British continental shelf in the North Sea, approximately 220 km north east of Aberdeen in Scotland. Production from Alba commenced in January 1994.
Caledonia
The field is located in UK block 16/26 north of the Alba field, and has developed by a single horizontal well subsea tie-back to processing facilities on the Britannia platform (jointly operated by Chevron and ConocoPhillips). Oil export is via the Forties pipeline system to shore. Production commenced February 2003 and reached plateau in 2003 at approximately 11,000 barrels oil per day.
Merlin
The Merlin field lies in the UK North Sea, east of Shetland and seven kilometres west of the Dunlin field. The licence was awarded in 1971, with oil proven in early 1997. Production started in 1998 and reached plateau in 1999 at 17,000 barrels per day.
Jupiter
The Jupiter field was accessed through a licence round in 1991 and increased equity in 1998. Production from this UK Southern North Sea cluster fields development, located within block 49/22 and south of Victor, is via normally unmanned platform facilities. Gas production commenced in October 1995.
Dunlin
Dunlin lies in UK North Sea blocks 211/23a and 23b, 160 kilometres north-east of Lerwick in Shetland. StatoilHydro secured an interest this field through the acquisition of Aran Energy in 1996. Located in 151 metres of water, the Dunlin reservoir lies at a depth of 2,740 metres. It came on stream in August 1978, with oil piped via the Brent system to the Sullom Voe terminal in Shetland.
Schiehallion
StatoilHydro is a partner in the oil field Schiehallion on the Atlantic margin, approximately 150 kilometres west of Shetland. Production at the field began in 1998. The sea depth of the field is 375 metres, and the field has been developed with a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO).
Oil from the field is exported by tankship to the Sullom Voe terminal. Gas is exported by pipeline to the Magnus field, where it is reinjected to increase oil production.
