Block 15/06 

Block 15/06 is the relinquished part of the original block 15 and was awarded to a new partnership with ENI as the operator in November 2006.
The first oil discovery in this deepwater block off the coast of Angola was done in May 2008.

The discovery well, Sangos-1, was drilled in 1,349 metres of water to a total vertical depth of 3,343 metres, and encountered an oil column of 127 metres in high permeability Miocene sands.

In October 2008 Eni and Sonangol E.P. announced a new oil discovery.  The discovery well Ngoma-1, located about 350 kolometres from Luanda, was drilled in 1,421 meters of water to a total vertical depth of 3,383 metres.

Eni operates Block 15/06 with a 35% interest and Sonangol E.P. is the Concessionaire.

The other contractors are Sonangol Pesquisa e Produçao SA (15%), SSI Fifteen Limited (20%), TEPA (Block15/06) Total (15%), Falcon Oil Holding Angola SA (5%), Petrobras International Braspetro B.V. (5%) and Statoil Angola Block 15/06 Award AS (5%).
