StatoilHydro’s Articles of Association do not set limits on share acquisitions.
StatoilHydro’s board of directors endorses the principles concerning the equal treatment of all shareholders, and it is obliged to act professionally and in accordance with the applicable principles for good corporate governance if a situation were to arise in which this principle in the Code of Practice is put to the test.
The Norwegian state is currently the majority owner of StatoilHydro. Any reduction in this interest in the company will require a majority decision of the Norwegian parliament, the Storting.
