What does an account registrar do?
All listed companies must have an account registrar who manages share register accounts on behalf of the company. This can be a bank or broker. Shares are registered at the Norwegian Central Securities Depository (VPS) which gathers information from each individual VPS account. The company’s account registrar pays out dividends, provides information for each individual shareholder and can inform who the individual shareholder’s account registrar is.
As a shareholder, you must hold registered shares in a VPS account. This account can be opened via your bank or broker. All changes to your VPS account must be made through your account registrar.

When is the dividend announced?
StatoilHydro announces the board’s proposed dividend in connection with its presentation of the annual results. The AGM’s tasks include the approval of the proposed dividend. Depending on AGM approval, the dividend is paid out around two weeks after the AGM is held.
When do I have to be registered as a shareholder for entitlement to the dividend?
In order to receive the dividend, you must be listed in the share register the day on which the AGM is held.
Can I reinvest the dividend to purchase further StatoilHydro shares?

How do I register for the AGM?
The notice of StatoilHydro’s AGM is sent out together with the annual report and accounts. Use the form you receive with the notice, or sign up via the company website (you will need a PIN code and reference number which is enclosed with the notice). You can also phone the company account registrar.
Who can participate and vote at the AGM?
All StatoilHydro shareholders have the opportunity to vote at the company AGM. If you are registered in the share register as an owner in your own name, you can meet up and cast your vote directly. If you are unable to attend, you can vote by proxy.
If you own shares via a nominee account you must re-register these to be able to use your vote. Contact your account registrar in good time before the AGM.
How can I exercise my right to vote if I am not present at the AGM?
You can vote by proxy by sending in an attendance form. To be valid, this must be signed and dated by the shareholder and registered at the AGM within the deadline, in the same way as with attendance in person.
